Receiving an award has meaning .
It has purpose , and it has value to the person receiving it . When I received the Lifetime Achievement Award , I had to take a step back in time and remember why I was receiving this award . I was reminded of the first time I accepted a Chamber Board seat ; became a judge for the Halloween Parade ; Chaired the Community Showcase ; became a Chamber Ambassador , and the list goes on . I guess you could say that I have been a dedicated Chamber member that did not quit ! I have given much time and energy to the Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce , but it has also given much back to me . It has challenged me to take risks , become a community leader , and helped me become a successful woman in the business world . Thank you to the Cottage Area Chamber of Commerce for the Lifetime Achievement Award . I am honored and forever grateful .
