“Sometimes a lower altitude works just as well as a
higher angle shot.”
Gaining a better perspective

Sometimes a fresh perspective, literally, can make
all the difference when it comes to selling your
property. One Cotswolds company providing just
that is Attwood Media – offering aerial photography
and filming services for various markets, including
domestic property.
Paul Attwood originally worked in print media where
he honed his creative eye and understanding of the
importance of great visuals. When he was made
redundant, Paul continued to develop his skills, by
attending university in Worcester and studying a degree in
digital media.
While still studying, in his final year, Paul came up with
the idea of starting his own aerial film and photography
business – but that is not as simple as it might appear.
Anyone wanting to use an unmanned aircraft system
(more commonly referred to as a drone) for commercial
use must gain the national qualified entity standards
set by the Civil Aviation Authority(CAA). This took Paul 9
months of hard study before obtaining his remote pilot
qualification.
“You should never hire a drone operator that cannot
show you their ‘Permission For Aerial Work’ from the UK
Civil Aviation Authority,” says Paul. “Having this ensures
the operator has received suitable training in the safe
operation of drones and is also has full public liability
insurance.”
Aerial photography presents unique challenges. It
requires much more than just shooting from a high or low
elevation, and it can be very mundane if not done in an
artistic and creative way.
In the case of aerial photography, it may be that
a developer needs to show a recent residential
development or a new shopping centre.
Attwood Media also has the ability to film in 4K
steadicam, which would be perfect for a professional
corporate video or indeed a property showcase walkthrough, coupled with aerial shots.
“Aerial filming and photographs are revolutionising
the property market by allowing buyers to see an whole
new perspective from houses, their gardens and the
surrounding landscape all at the same time,” says Paul.
To give your luxury countryside properties the edge in a
competitive market place, let Attwood Media photograph
your next project and see the difference for yourself.
