2018 Beauty Expo USA By: Beauty Expo USA The 20th Beauty Expo USA Hair & Beauty Supply Trade Show will be held on January 15th and 16th 2018 at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. According to the Executive Director, Maria Kang, “This year’s show is our 20th Anniversary. It is a celebration and the focus is on showing our appreciation to the exhibitors and buyers for their kind support over the past two decades”. Beauty Expo USA has been known as the first Asian-American hair and beauty supply trade show in the United States. Always held in January, the attendants get a preview of the new hair, chemical and makeup product lines. Since its inception, Beauty Expo has made great efforts to provide the attendants with exceptional seminars. It has been a tradition for leaders in the beauty industry to host the breakfast and dinner seminars and this year again, ORS will sponsor the breakfast seminar on Monday, January 15, 2018. The golf outing on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 will be sponsored by Kim, Eun Ok (previous president and current of counsel to BBWA). At the 2018 show, Beauty Expo USA will also have the support of the major regional beauty supply associations in the United States. Not only will their members attend the show, but they will have their annual member meeting at Beauty Expo USA. For example, one of the regional beauty supply associations and trade show marketing di- rector, Sam Hwang of National Federation of Beauty Suppliers (herein NFBS) notes that “The main objective of a beauty trade show is to provide a venue for retailers, manufacturers, and distributors; to get together and continue to improve and build the beauty industry. It is not a competition between entities. That is why for us, it is important to show a unified and cooperative working relationship between Beauty Expo USA and NFBS”. Another focus of the 2018 show is promoting the young business owners to get more active and involved as a group. “While our parents built a strong indus- try, it is our responsibility to continue their legacy and build a strong com- munity. Our goal is to support each other and with company sponsorships, get product education and assistance for community outreach programs” (Maria Kang). The young business leaders, comprised of sons and daughters of pre- dominant beauty supply store owners, wholesalers, and manufacturing companies, will also gather for dinner on Sunday and meeting on Mon- day to share ideas and concerns in their respective business. Accord- ing to one of the young store owners, “Meeting people at Beauty Expo is fun and leads to continued networking. I get great ideas to use at my stores and it is inspiring to hear what some of the owners are doing in their area” (Gina Ahn from Seven Mile Fashion in Minnesota). There will be a hair and makeup competition on both Mon- day and Tuesday as well as showroom seminars. In addition, a sample future beauty supply store will be exhibited in the back of the showroom sponsored by a top leading Korean IT company. The highlight of the show will be on Monday night where Beauty Expo USA with JUNO Hair, KISS, and Hair Zone will host a Hair and Makeup Fashion Show.
