NEW YORK FASHION

BACKSTAGE WITH THE
PLITZ CREATIVE TEAM

Special thanks to Sharon Hwang for photography and
Suri Xia for conducting interviews
wice a year New York sees its streets flooded with teams from the world over all focused
on one thing—fashion week! We teamed up
with our friend, makeup artist, and educator
Maria Moore to go behind the scenes of the
Plitz NYCFW Creative Team to see what goes into getting models ready for the runways. The Plitz team does
makeup for dozens of shows throughout the course of
the day. This year the group was stationed at the Pennsylvania Hotel. On Saturday September 12th they started work on shows that ran every 15 minutes; altogether
the team completed makeup and hair looks for over 20
designers.

Makeup Jane Bellis and Creative Manager Lowell Shelton to get the inside scoop on what it was like behind
the scenes. Bellis explained that the task of prepping for

twice a year for fashion week and only arrives a few
days before. She starts her planning months ahead; her
job includes designing the looks for the season and after
arriving stateside, teaching the stylists and artists and
