Tips for Shampooing
Even though water may become trapped in the
wefts of hair extensions, threads, and cornrows,
it is highly recommended that you shampoo the
hair every 3-4 days, or at least once a week while
wearing hair extensions.
Regular shampoo can be used on remi or cuticle
hair, since it has healthy layers of cuticles left on
the hair. Regular shampoo can also be used on
any mid-price range of human hair product, as
long as cool or luke-warm water is used during
the shampoo.
If you wish to extend the life of the hair, it is high-
ly recommended that you use a gentler form of
shampoo, or a shampoo made especially for hair
extensions. Also, hot or warm water tends to open
up the cuticle and allow the moisture underneath
to dry out. Cold water, on the other hand, tends to
close the cuticles, so cool or luke-warm water is
best for caring for extensions.
This is also true for a person’s own natural hair,
especially when hair is chemically processed.

4. Rinse under running water or during shower.
5. Repeat the shampoo one or two more times until hair
feels fairly clean.
6. Evenly apply a rinse-out conditioner and wait several
minutes.
7. Rinse with running water or during your shower.
8. Towel dry to remove about 80% of water.
9. Apply a small amount of non-oily leave-in condition-
er, especially at the ends of hair.
