4. Deep Clean Your Wigs!
It’s not likely your wig and hair collection is getting
much use right now, which makes it the perfect time
to give everything a deep clean! We’re sharing an
older article about how to best wash wigs and exten-
sions over on pg.54. In the meantime, when you are
wearing wigs and extensions out, make sure to give
them a cleaning after each wear. To help keep wear
and tear down, try using a wig sanitizing and deodor-
izing spray. Not only will these kill any bacteria or
germs that have made their way onto your wig, but
they’ll help keep your collection in great shape for
longer.
5. Stock Your Bag
If you are an essential worker or need to run errands,
it’s more important than ever to pay attention to what
you’re doing and how you’re doing it. The use of
personal protective measures like fabric face masks
and face coverings is critical and being careful with
what you touch is also necessary. In general, it’s best
to stay home if you have the option. Ordering grocer-
ies online and only leaving for necessities is a great
way to help flatten the curve. If you can not online
shop, make sure to wear your mask and keep a six
foot distance from others. When possible, wearing
gloves is a significant step. However, most of us are
not trained in how to prevent cross-contamination,
and gloves can give us a false sense of security while
putting ourselves and others at risk. There are plenty
of resources online to teach you how to use gloves
without risking cross-contamination. In the mean-
time, it may be better to leave the gloves to those
who need them most and stick to using other safety
measures such as hand sanitizer and hand washing.
One of our new favorites is Papa Made hand sani-
tizer, as it’s made with a blend of essential oils, is
a family-owned company, and isn’t putting insane
markups on their product.
