hoosing the perfect look for any special
event is a challenge. Finding a look that’s
appropriate, flattering, and that you feel
like a star in can mean trying endless styles
until you’re exhausted. When it comes to a
special event like a prom or wedding, simplicity
can sometimes be a thing of pure beauty.
When we first saw these stunning images
from photographer Melody Jacob, it was a
perfect example of just how wonderful a simple
look can be. Incorporating a sleek, modern
appearance, all of these looks are simple, not
overly cluttered and will stand the test of time
as a classic special events look.
While some of the looks use more trendy
elements (think the bright red fanny pack purse),
they keep things light. This is one of the keys to
any special event look, while more complicated
and intricate styles definitely have their place,
they can also look dated in photos sooner.
When it comes to choosing your hair look, now
is the time to opt for quality over trend. While we
might not recommend a two-tone look for every
bride, the long glamorous wave itself is a great
look. If the event you will be attending is more
loose - like prom or a wedding guest - trying new,
less-practical hair looks is great. But, for brides,
in particular, you want to be able to look back
on your wedding without immediately regretting
your hair choice. Choosing a style that suits you
(think one that you turn to time and time again),
but in a higher quality than normal, is a great
way to get into the wedding spirit without feeling
like you’ve put too much on the line.
