Editor’s Note
Hello
Readers!
It is with great pleasure that I get to share this issue
with you. Of all of the features that we do, my personal
favorites are always the ones where we take a look at
green beauty and environmentally conscious options. As
someone who is incredibly invested in the natural world,
finding ways to mesh my love of beauty with my love of
the environment is always a thrill.
The world of natural, organic, and environmentally
conscious beauty is constantly evolving. Lead by
indie brands with amazing products, the industry has
expanded significantly in just the last year, let alone the
last ten. There are more options than ever before and
I’m thrilled to have the chance to share some of this
amazing information with you in our August issue.
Of the topics near and dear to my heart, I wanted to
share a new feature we’re bringing up this month that
we may use again. When we first started our English
version of Cosmobiz, we were aimed at a dramatically
different reader base than we are now. If you’re one of
our many, many new readers you might be surprised
to learn that we started as a salon industry publication
with a focus on a multi-cultural market. With that in
mind, there are many stories lost in our backlog that
our current readers would never find. While there are,
of course, articles that are no longer relevant or that are
not fit for our new focus, there are many wonderful and
informative pieces that I want to bring back into the light.
Among these are two I wrote while still a staff writer back
in 2016 - Demystifying Greenwashing and a spotlight on
Green Hair Extensions.
While there are not many articles from our early days that
are still relevant, the wigstension world moves fast, we
may share a few more pieces in the upcoming months.
I hope you enjoy this issue, and that you take the time to
consider the ways in which you could make your beauty
routine a little more friendly to both you and the planet!
Until next time!
Kate Patterson
