The theme was Frugal Innovations which is about the ability to do better with less – to create significantly greater social value whilst minimizing the use of scarce financial and natural resources . It was a superb conference with very interesting speakers and wellrounded off by a Western themed gala dinner .
Coschem constantly strive to provide new innovative ways of communicating information to our members and this year we have introduced some successful webinars which enable members to learn and listen online . We hope to expand on these in 2017 .
The 2nd of September saw the opening of the Coschem Lab . Coschem has long been planning this addition to their new offices ; hence there was great excitement on the day . We celebrated the event with a few of the Coschem Members and officially cut the ribbon to make the event official .
The Lab has all the facilities available to our students and Coschem members for training purposes . With this location being the base for the Diploma in Cosmetic Science lectures , the Lab is a perfect addition in order to enable our students from a practical as well as theoretical standpoint .
With the mention of these few highlights there are many more that you will read about in the Committee reports to follow .
I would like to end by extending my heartfelt thanks to all our Members and the Companies in the Cosmetic Science Industry for all their on-going support we receive throughout the year , and as I hand over the presidency to Kirsten Scott for 2017 , I wish her a very successful year .
