For the first time in 2014 , we started a poster session . From the surveys in years which followed , the Poster session are seen as worthwhile , so we again offered this in 2016 , and will now become a standing arrangement . Going forward we are investigating the possibility for a larger area , to give presenters more space and place to hold open discussions , and to also have better space for reviewing the poster . In 2017 we will also look at the option , of giving each poster , a 10 minute slot , to present the posters on the podium . These presentations along with the data relevant to the poster , will be judged by five judges , and the winner , will receive a prize , which is still to be determined .
147 delegates attended the conference , and a favorable surplus was raised , which will be used to further equip the new Laboratory / Teaching facility at the Society office . This will be of great value to students that are doing the Diploma course and to help them achieve their goals and train members in new technologies , together striving for a professional industry .
The gala dinner was held at the Wanderers Club , and the theme was Wild Wild West . I personally was not able to attend this function , but have been informed that a good party was had by all . We were informed of a few logistical matters , and these have been document , to ensure that we do not experience the same in 2017 .
I would like to thank Bridget for her continual dedication and hard work , ensuring that the Conference and Gala Dinner is a success , as well as the Scientific Committee as listed above . Thank you for the time that you offer and the extra mile that you all take to making this event is a success .
To the sponsors , without all your valuable support and sponsorship , the Society will not be able to grow and educate members further , and this will have a devastating impact on the industry and Cosmetic Scientists in general . I am forever grateful for this support , and appreciate the continual dedication to the Society and the industry .
