Allowed 107 hits, 35 walks, and struck out 110 batters in 26 appearances (15 starts). Ranked 3rd among Houston minor league pitchers in ERA and 5th in strikeouts per-9 innings (9.5). Also ranked 5th in strikeouts-per-walk (3.14). Began season with 3 straight scoreless outings (14 1/3 IP, 4 H, 21 K, 1 BB). Registered a career-high 10 strikeouts in 6 scoreless innings on April 18 at Myrtle Beach. Named Carolina League Pitcher of the Week on April 23. Went 2/3 IP and allowed 5 ER (6 H) on April 26 at Winston-Salem. Threw 76 innings while posting 77 strikeouts and 41 walks. Roughed up in season debut on April 7 at Cedar Rapids, allowing 6 earned runs in 2 /3 innings. Bounced back on April 12 at Peoria, tossing 5 scoreless innings (2 H, 3 K, 2 BB). Went 5 scoreless innings (6 H, 3 K, 1 BB) on April 24 at Kane County.
