Health and Social Care Our care business provides health and social care services and we continue to look at innovative ways to deliver those services. We also monitor risk and quality profile of care schemes, where necessary introducing general needs services or care specific services to meet need. Our care services remain significantly above the national average for Care Quality Commission (CQC) ratings at c90% of services rated good or outstanding (national average 67%) and we shall always ensure that quality is our key priority. The ongoing Dementia Centres of Excellence project in Staffordshire will enable us to develop our significant expertise around dementia care yet further and we will also continue to work closely with local authorities on a range of support services for people with dementia and their carers. We will also develop our offering on dementia awareness training for other public and private sector organisations. We shall further develop the range of care and support services we offer, particularly working in wider partnerships with the NHS and hospitals, for example on step-down care, reablement support and more complex care in people’s own homes to help tackle pressures on the NHS and social care network. vulnerable in society for example young adults leaving care, offenders in custody and ex-offenders working towards a new life, assisting them with skills training leading to employment opportunities. We will also build on existing relationships with government and the Community Rehabilitation Company on projects such as Troubled Families and Troubled Individuals and other preventative schemes ensuring that the work we do has measurable outcomes and delivers value for money for the government. Delivery: n Through a strategic approach to new business, compete in wider markets and in partnership where relevant n Be market-leaders in areas of specialism such as work with offenders and dementia care, marketing those services and promoting widely n Explore new services and provision as demographics and needs change We will further explore opportunities to deliver community based specialist services to particular segments such as female offenders, ex-military personnel, older prisoners, high risk offenders, prolific and priority offenders and guns and gangs. Tailoring services to meet local needs and working with Clinical Commissioning Groups to deliver preventative services will also be a key strand of work.
