Paradigm shift in hospitality industry as hoteliers opt for furnished apartments By Kevin Mogallo HOTEL & HOSPITALITY D emolition squads have been busy at the coast where hoteliers are competitively converting and expanding the hotels into apartments as tourists develop appetite for fully furnished apartments. The new venture has seen the reconstruction and spreading out of some of the hotels at the coastal region including Sun N Sand, which has spearheaded the construction of a multimillion state-of-the-art complex dubbed “Ocean Seven.” The Ocean Seven complex (with five residential and two commercial towers) has been designed to offer all the luxury amenities one can expect – spa, helipad, banking hall, travel agency and other related services. There are a number of swimming pools within the grounds; for serious swimmers a 50-meter infinity pool, and other informal pools and a baby pool. The landscaping has been designed to give residents a choice of vibrant social centres or quieter retreats like gazebos and yoga decks.
