Cruising
If you enjoy sailing at a leisurely pace, relaxing in an
idyllic (maybe even exotic) location and even enjoying the
occasional sundowner, then cruising is for you!
Cruising activities are organised by the Cruising
Committee for all members and their sailing
friends. The aim of these events is to encourage
participation in organised cruise events, to share
interesting and educational sailing information
and to give Club members more opportunities to
meet other members and use the facilities of the
Club.
The Cruising Committee organises a
comprehensive event schedule which includes
education evenings with expert and informative
speakers, social events and sailing activities.
Enjoyable social evenings, often with an
interesting speaker, are held on the first Friday
of each month. All Club members are welcome

to attend. At these evenings, the Cruising
Committee organises speakers who are
experts on a diverse range of subjects from
heavy weather sailing or electronics on board,
to members or guests sharing experiences of
cruising to far-flung cruising areas.
Inshore cruises in the Pittwater/Broken Bay/
Hawkesbury area, with their myriad of secluded
bays, are arranged on a regular basis. Most
weekends will reveal cruising yachts from the
Club enjoying this area. Those who cruise
together develop strong friendships and many
social activities revolve around talk about the
last or the next cruise. Regular Alfred’s Cruising
events explore this area.
