Lion Island Series
• Description: The Lion Island series is held on
Saturdays during May and is characterised
by a weekly race around Lion Island. This
is a fun, social and competitive event that
commences during the Winter season of
racing. Crews and guests return to Halyards
post-racing for social drinks, afternoon snacks
and the weekly presentation.
• Description: The Wednesday Waterford
series is scheduled throughout the late
Winter months. Wednesday races are fun,
social and competitive races fostering the
Club spirit of excellence in sailing. • Race format: Non-Spinnaker, around the
cans racing on Pittwater with a mixture of
upwind and downwind starts. • Race Format: Spinnaker and non-spinnaker
racing.
• Race length average: 120-150 minutes. • Race Length Average: 120 minutes.
• Series: The Winter Waterford Series is
scheduled from July to August. • Series: Races commence in the vicinity NE of
Scotland Island to Lion Island and back.
• Starting times: From 1400hrs. • Starting Times: From 1200hrs.
