The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club is situated on Green
Point at Newport on the pristine body of water called
Pittwater, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
“The Alfred’s”, as it is known by locals and
members, has a long and colourful history
dating back to 1867 and is one of Australia’s
oldest yacht Clubs.

The Club offers members and their guests
some of the finest facilities in Australia; with
state-of-the-art floating marina, a modern boat
yard with 50-tonne travel lift, two hardstand
boat storage areas, on-site marine services,
tender service, gymnasium, multi-level secure
parking, à la carte dining restaurant (Alfred’s
Table), casual waterfront bistro (Halyard’s
Bistro), and first class function facilities that
have earned it an international reputation as a
superb Club.
The Club offers a variety of weekly inshore
and offshore keelboat racing events, cruising
events, plus centreboard off the beach racing
on Sundays. Additionally, weekly social
activities for all ages, including a fun and
exciting sailing training academy for kids to
learn to sail, a youth development programme,
a schools Term programme, fun holiday
courses, as well as an adult learn to sail and
development programme for sailors of all
levels, provide plenty of opportunity to get
involved in sailing at the Club.
