Description: The Commodores Cup is held
is a series designed to offer sailors long
passage races within Pittwater. Racing
throughout Spring and Summer includes
a non-spinnaker division providing a great
entry point for new boat owners or those
looking to do more social sailing.
With over 20 years of experience

for crew wishing to experience offshore
day sailing prior to competing in the BWPS
series.

East Coast Blue Water Pointscore Series
• Description: The Club Marine East Coast
Blue Water Coastal Pointscore Series
(BWPS) is the most prestigious offshore
series on the RPAYC’s racing calendar.
This series of offshore races is conducted
along the east coast of Australia between
September and April. Each race is unique
and offers crew the opportunity to develop
their navigational, weather and boatmanship
skills.
• Race format: Racing covers a wide range of
conditions in a variety of courses between
18 and 370 nautical miles. There is a mixture
of overnight (Category 2) and daytime
events (Category 3).
• Series: The series consists of six offshore
races including the Bird Island Race,
Port Hacking Race, Boondelah Race, the
Pittwater to Paradise Regatta, Pittwater to
Sydney Yacht Race and the Pittwater to
Newcastle Yacht Race.
• Starting Times: Vary from a Friday lunchtime
to midmorning or mid-afternoon on a
Saturday.

Description: The Offshore Series offers
competitors the experience of offshore
day sailing with a mixture of windward/
leeward and passage courses on Broken
Bay. Division 1 boats will also compete
between Terrigal and Sydney. The series
allows crew to experience offshore racing
in a daylight environment for a competitive
race experience or in preparation for longer
offshore races like those in the Club Marine
East Coast Blue Water Pointscore Series.
Race Format: Races consist of a variety of
windward/leeward offshore and passage
style races from 1-2nm up to 8+nm
depending on a boats division allocation.
