Davidstow Military museum, cornwall

3rd October 2015

Property History:

The Museum (also known as Cornwall at War Museum) is located on part of the old WW2 airfield RAF Davidstow Moor.

The museum, which covers about two acres includes 18 separate buildings (including four of the original buildings from the 1940s) and literally thousands of items on display, as well as many other larger exhibits in the museum grounds.

information is displayed about this former RAF station (from its opening on 1st October 1942 until its closure at the end of 1945) there is also information on the Royal Navy and the british army.

There are also displays of American and German Army artifacts on display, as well as civilian items.

Although the emphasis is largely on WW2 there are exhibits covering both WW1 and the Falklands.

Team: peter, mandy, angie, bronwen & lynne

guests: Soul searchers kernow and guests.

Due to the site layout, the team decided against our normal cctv syStem in favour of using hand held night vision cameras only for this event.

This was a new venue for some of the team and so it was an interesting, although a rather quiet evening, during the night the team did report hearing some shuffling and various tapping noises while calling out in a vigil,

The cpr team have all agreed that this venue is well worth a return visit in the the new year.

Many thanks to Bev and the Souls searchers kernow team for supplying us with hot drinks through out the night.

A short video of our visit can be found on page 59.
