Property History
Acquired in by the National trust in 1903, the building is an unusual and atmospheric 14th-century yeoman's farmhouse with a famously wavy slate roof. The central hall is open to the great oak trusses and slates of the roof and holds over 600 years of history.
The name dates from the Victorian period when it briefly held a licence to be the letter receiving station for the district.
