Cornwall & Devon Land Rover Club. The Club Mag spring 2014 | Page 13

After SWLRC member Chris Georgiou came down and did his first Time Trail ever, and his first event with Cornwall & Devon, I caught up with him on facebook after the event for a chat with him to find out how he got on Aaron: How did you find your first time trail? Chris: Well as a first time trail I loved it, the sections were ace, and they all had differences in a good way. A: How did you find Cornwall and Devon ran it? C: As for the running of the time trail I think they were very organized and ran a tight ship when it came to getting people on the line. As for the people in the club they were very welcoming and not afraid to come and have a conversation with me. I recognized some faces from other events round the area, and made some new friends to. I will defiantly be coming down to do more when they are as close. A: What attracted you to come down and enter? C: Well as it was going to be my first timed event and I missed the Christmas one at our club I thought why not. The fact it was free helped. A: How was the event going until you had to retire? C: In my eyes the event was going really well until it started to rain and the wind picked up, that made it a bit chilly and also got quite cold, but apart from that it was ace. A: And what was the cause of the retirement? C: Well with the new shocks I had put on my truck for doing timed events I didn’t allow for enough upwards travel on the shocks. So when I hit a large lump that sent me into the air it broke an eyes off the top of one of the shocks. It wasn’t a big problem, just meant I couldn’t finish the day. But all in all I wasn’t disappointed with how the truck performed; it went well and I was happy with it as I had been having some issues with the engine before this event. Thanks again for a fantastic day and I will be coming back to do more in the future. Thanks Chris, we look forward to seeing you at more of our time trail events over the coming year.
