Two years ago on September 16, 2016, we opened the Cornerstone Food Cupboard. The Cupboard has grown much faster and larger than those of us who planned the Cupboard imagined. Clearly the need for food assistance is great, and it is so very rewarding that we can provide such assistance to families in need. I want to thank the many individuals and organizations that have continued to support our work. About 50
individuals volunteer their service to the Cupboard - working with clients when the Cupboard is open, picking up food from Foodshare and grocery stores, and processing grocery store donations. I especially want to recognize the service of Diana Mott. Diana manages the Saturday client shopping session and the pick-up and processing of grocery store produce and other refrigerator items. Her commitment of time and energy is truly commendable.
We could not survive without the donations we receive from individuals, churches, and civic organizations. It is a challenge to keep our shelves stocked with non-perishable food and I don't know how we would be able to continue with our important work without this support.
