STABILIZERS FOR FLAVORED MILK DRINKS
Flavored milk drinks is proving an ever more popular alternative to other beverages. Flavored milk is a dairy drink made with milk,
flavoring’s and sugar. It may be flavored with chocolate, vanilla, natural and artificial food flavorings. It is a terrific way for kids, teens
and adults to enjoy milk and get the nine essential nutrients found in milk. Flavored milk
is often pasteurized or for longer shelf life it is required the ultra–high-temperature
(UHT) treatment or retort treatment. They are often sold in the refrigerated dairy
section along with other milk products.
Flavored milk drinks are expected to be a homogenous product without visible
sedimentation and creaming. Most of the flavorings (cocoa) are insoluble in milk
and water meaning that
if no insurances are
taken, the flavorings will
settle at the bottom of
the package.
