just literally from the pouring
rain that saw the pitch semiwaterlogged. With a depleted
squad from the start, after they
saw some of their players pull
out from action due to work
commitments, Manchester were
on the back foot from the start of
the match against leaders
Lincoln. The Manchester facing
Lincoln resembling little of the
team that had scraped a draw
through their determination and
tenacity the previous week.
Playing at a fast pace, and
using both flanks to open up
Manchester's defence, Lincoln
maintained a near barrage on
the Manchester defence from
the start of the match. Within the
first 20 minutes Lincoln were
one up from a strike from the left
side, when Casciaro received a
cross from the right to strike it
deep into the far post. A similar
strike just minutes before saw
Macedo make a flying save to
keep the ball out.
