SuperNET Tuesday Update 28/03/2017
In this update, we’re going to talk about the the Agama multi wallet, the Komodo market and our latest branding strategy. We are also going to talk about the Blockshow event.
BlockShow 2017
In order to expand Komodo’s outreach, the SuperNET team will be present at the BlockShow2017 conference on April 6th, eight days from now!
The BlockShow is a conference organized by CoinTelegraph. It is a major informational and networking platform for showcasing established Blockchain solutions. Our speaker will be security expert ca333, who has an excellent understanding of our platform and blockchain in general. To assist ca333, we will also send Alice and Polycryptoblog.
Be sure to show up to learn more about Komodo and to connect with the team’s envoys. We hope to see you there!
Komodo
Although not much has changed in Komodo recently, we believe the latest rally is due to a strong community, developer presence and constant updates/information. Since last week, the value of Komodo has grown 120% from 0.00007989 to 0.0001787 (roughly $0.17 atm).
Although we are aware of the growing volatility experienced in the altcoin markets, we believe this rally to be nothing more than Komodo finding its true value. Trading volume is also increasing rapidly, with more than 370 BTC worth of Komodo exchanged in the last 24h (on the BTC market).
Agama
In case you missed it, Iguana was rebranded to Agama - Read more in the previous update.
We continue to make periodic releases that the community is free to download and test. Remember, these are still in beta, so use them at your own risk. The latest version can be found here.
In the last update, we also mentioned that we were working on some material to guide users on how to use the Agama wallet. Click here to check out the latest guide “How to Run Agama From a Ubuntu 16.04 Bootable USB Drive”.
PAX Fiat Assets renamed to Komodo Currencies
After the rebranding of Iguana to Agama, we are now changing the name of our PAX fiat assets to Komodo Currencies. - Read the announcement here
Long-time SuperNet supporters may be sad to see the names they have grown accustomed to disappear. However, we believe that this strategy will help us market Komodo and SuperNet more efficiently in the future, namely to the mainstream audience. Audo stated:
“We have done a lot of research about our brand architecture and brainstormed possible solutions that would position each brand clearly making them easy to understand. These are very basic and fundamental things that our whole marketing will rely on for the years to come. There are still a lot undecided, but the Komodo brand is coming into focus.”
The name PAX is an acronym for “Pegged Asset Exchange”. Although this doesn’t seem overly complicated to our community, entrant users will have no idea what “PAX” stands for.
Although PAX could be used as a name in of itself without the need to reveal the true meaning behind the acronym, we believe our products’ name should hint at what the products are, since we’re dealing with new and complicated technology. Even if we were to spell out what PAX means, the concept of “Pegged Assets” isn’t highly popular, so the problem remains.
We feel Komodo Currencies is a perfect name. Although it may seem blend at first, it brings up the Komodo brand and it assures that users know exactly what they`re dealing with when seeing the name for the first time.
In case you are not familiar with the technology, what are Komodo Currencies?
It is simple: you can convert your KMD value into any of the 32 local currencies we support. The process is, of course, decentralized and it happens automatically & instantly. Because of this, the peg will always hold.
These 32 Komodo Currencies each have a blockchain, and they are as secure as Bitcoin and as private as Zcash - just like Komodo, so you get to enjoy the benefits of cryptocurrency without any volatility risk (perfect for entrant users!).
