Letter From the Editor
You know you’ve
made a friend when
you have tea together.
All of my very closest friends have had tea
with me. Serving tea is how I show you that
I really truly care about you. Words can’t
make the kind of love that goes into setting
aside time to prepare a pot of tea more clear
or concise. Friends are the people you are
most comfortable with talking about anything. Drinking in the silence together is
just as important.
This journal is about bringing friends together and creating sanctuaries for the time
My dearest wish for you is that you explore
this multifaceted tradition for yourself.
Make tea for the important people in your
life. They’ll remember the time you spent
sipping tea together, talking about the
things that matter most.
they spend drinking tea and talking as old
friends do.
Special thanks to my husband, Garrett, for being my personal motivator, support and copy-editor-in-chief; Holly Hurst for her friendship and shared experiences; Mountain Rose Herbs for their
wonderful help, photography, and charming staff; and The Teaspot for their photography, cheerful correspondence, and delightful customer experience.
