On behalf of the Kentucky Department of Education( KDE), we would like to thank you for your recent nomination and for allowing us to visit your alternative education program during the Alternative Education Programs of Distinction process. We had many strong programs apply this year and were pleased to see the continuous improvement of alternative education programs across the Commonwealth.
It is my pleasure to inform you that Corbin Educational Center has been designated as an Alternative Education Program of Distinction by KDE. After an extensive on-site visit by our review team, Corbin Educational Center was deemed to be an exemplary program.
As part of this recognition, Corbin Educational Center will receive a monetary award for instructional support and be formally recognized at the Kentucky Board of Education meeting on February 4, 2026. In addition, information on Corbin Educational Center will be posted on the KDE website and featured in Kentucky Teacher. It is our hope that your program will serve as a model for other alternative education programs across the state.
