Technology Lab . We utilize a 21st Century classroom experience that allows students to gain proficiency in technology and be ready to select a college and / or career pathway at Corbin High School . With cutting-edge technology as the vehicle , C o r b i n M i d d l e seeks to immerse students in a collaborative setting where communication skills are honed and critical thinking skills are exhibited through innovative , problem solving tasks and projects .
We also believe in the importance of the arts as evidenced in a plethora of offerings in music , dance , art , media , technology , theater , and health / physical education . Our Exploratory classes allow students to discover interests and hidden talents . Exposing students to a variety of arts through active experiences , help them to prepare for specialization should they choose to do so in high school .
Corbin Middle School not only has a new building but a new location . However , our mission remains the same : we believe all students can learn and all students will learn . We believe all students can achieve mastery regardless of family background , socio-economic status , race , and / or gender . Our purpose is to educate all students to high levels of academic
performance w h i l e fostering g r o w t h in socialemotional behavior attitudes , thus enabling all students to achieve mastery of skills necessary to become effective members of society .
And so , we fulfill our mission daily doing the common things in an uncommon way . We do not view your child ’ s education as our job or a career . It is our mission . Big difference . The student fee for Chromebooks is based on the USDA ’ s National Lunch Program ’ s yearly income eligibility guidelines , and specific fee information will be provided in your student ’ s folder at Open House . If you would like to pay your student supply or Chromebook fee at Open House , we now offer an online payment option that will allow you to do so . We will discuss how to access this feature at Open House . Please see specific fee information at the end of this letter .
As always , we are very thankful for your partnership and support . As we prepare to start this year , we want to recognize our parents and families for partnering with us last school year . Through many uncertainties and difficult decisions we saw a willingness to come together to prioritize our students ’ well-being time after time . It is our intent to use what we learned from those challenges to offer the best instructional program and elementary experience for each individual that is a part of the Corbin Elementary community . We have 8 third grade classes , 8 third grade classes , 7 second grade classes , 8 first grade classes and 8 kindergarten classes . Each classroom has a cap of 24 students to 1 teacher and many of our classes are at capacity .
The demographics of Corbin and specifically the primary school community are growing more diverse and our school embraces that diversity seeing our students as members of a larger global family . Our school provides a rich experience in the arts offering physical education , media technology , health , art , yoga , handwriting , music and STEM / STEAM experiences .
