CORBIN INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS
Corbin Educational Center is a specialized treatment and educational program for both male and female students grades 4-12 , CEC is operated by the Corbin Board of Education in cooperation with the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice and the Kentucky Educational Collaborative for State Agency Children .
Corbin Education Center offers treatment for a variety of students in the Tri-County area , the primary referral sources are Whitley County School district , Williamsburg Independent district and the Corbin Independent School district . Students may also be referred by the Whitley County Juvenile court system and the Department of Juvenile Justice .
We have seven classroom teachers , four full time mental health counselors , two instructional monitors and a full time office staff to help meet the needs of our students .
We service around 45 students at any given time , the students are able to meet both academic and mental health needs .
Our students are also able to participate in community service during the week , they are able to help with the backpack program in the area and also help at some of the food banks provided by our local churches .
The students will need approximately 12-18 weeks to complete the program .
