My role as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Technician was to help facilitate treatment with the rehabilitation specialist by performing laser therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, therapeutic exercises, and hydrotherapy. I encouraged Maya to perform certain exercises that would help improve her range of motion and strengthen her pelvic limb musculature. As Maya progressed in her recovery, I would encourage her to perform exercises on different surfaces and challenge her strength with increased intervals and repetitions. I would also challenge Maya in the underwater treadmill by lowering the water level to provide more resistance to her muscles, and increase the treadmill speed to improve endurance and increase the intensity.
