REEFS AT RISK
Coral Reefs all around the word are the Earth's most endangered ecosystems.
Coral Reefs are found all over the world, infact there is at least one major reef in every ocean. It has been known for a number of decades that the Reefs have been in a big risk of extinction. They are in risk because of the global climate change rising. They can even be affected if the change is by one degree.
Not only are the reefs effected by temp but some scientists have seen increases in coral disease on the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) over the last 5 years. The GBR is very effected by reef destruction. However, only about 7 diseases have been discovered on the reef and therefore they are not seen as a major threat to the health of the GBR.
There are many ways coral reefs can die, along with many causes. Sadly to say all of the causes that we know of are from humans.
