We chose Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest to conduct a giveaway for consumers to participate in through one of the most accessible mediums, social media. We also chose targeting our “Busy Bee” target market through social media as opposed to more traditional home based mediums because they are always on the go and a majority of their news and entertainment is sought out on their smart phones, tablets or laptops. Through Instagram and Twitter, followers can tweet and post photos of their pet’s messes and using the hashtag #htpetdisasters to immediately enter themselves in a monthly drawing for a free Power Pet Door, installation included. On Pinterest, pinners can re-pin any sponsored pins with the hashtag to enter in the drawing as well. The social media accounts not only generate hype by offering giveaways but also pet tips, promotions and more. 33
