July 25th , Second to Last Fellowship
I ’ m sorry , I know I ’ m skipping a lot here . A lot happens at Nationals . This was the fellowship right after That ’ s Entertainment !, a talent show put on by JCLers and run by the SCL . As someone who is not remotely artistic or musical , I ’ m always impressed by watching other people play the violin , dance , do diablo , etc . Plus , the chanting of “ Let ’ s go stage crew !” when the SCL stage crew comes out is always iconic .
This was also the fellowship right after Virginia lost the Certamen semifinals by five points . For anyone not familiar with Certamen , that ’ s the smallest amount possible to lose by . It ’ s hard to get over the feeling of “ ugh , I could ’ ve been faster on this question ” after losing by five points .
But at this fellowship , the Certamen coaches all stood up and gave speeches about each of their players , and it was the sweetest thing ever . It was a little sad , too , since this was our last time playing with some of the graduating seniors . Several Certamen people also did a group huddle ( we called it something else , but I ’ m blanking on the name ) with Ms . Ghosheh after fellowship ended . Despite our losses earlier that day , we all complimented each other and were generally awesome ( This is what I love about the JCL community . Seriously ).
Essentially , Nationals , despite being one of the most chaotic and stressful events to exist , is also one of the best . If you ’ ve never been before , talk to a friend ( or any of the officers ) who have , and we hope to see you next summer !
