VIRGINIA CLIMATE GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING SUMMER FELLOWSHIP -CCAN

Locations: Richmond / Hampton Roads

Hours: 40 hrs/week for 10 weeks, preferred. Minimum of 20 hours/week for 8 weeks. The program runs from early June through August (end dates are flexible according to availability)

For more than a decade, CCAN has been working in Maryland, Virginia, and DC to fight climate change by standing up to polluters and working to pass clean energy policies. This summer, we are working on several fronts to reduce and prevent climate pollution. In Virginia, we are working to bring wind and solar power to the commonwealth by overcoming Dominion Power’s hold on our energy policy, stop dirty energy like offshore oil drilling, and highlight Virginia’s unique vulnerability to climate consequences such as the impact of sea level rise on Hampton Roads.

Our fellowship program is an excellent opportunity to launch your career in the inspiring and effective field of grassroots advocacy and organizing. We kick off the program with a two-day intensive training on the skills you need to start your fellowship, and throughout the summer, we will offer you specific skills trainings, such as recruiting and training volunteers, working with the media, and planning a winning campaign. Fellows will be supervised and trained by CCAN staff with proven experience in organizing and policy. Apply today to join our team of summer fellows! You will be a valuable addition to our CCAN team.

To apply: Please fill out this fellowship application and attach a one-page resume detailing your relevant experience.
