Mark Warner for Senate: Tracking

My name is Sara and I'm working with the

Democratic Party of VA and Mark Warner for Senate on tracking the potential Republican nominee for US Senate, Ed Gillespie. I've had the pleasure of speaking to some of you over the past couple weeks and look forward to reaching out to new members across the Commonwealth.

Ed Gillespie is a very active, mobile candidate. He travels across the state at a quick pace and is often difficult to follow. So, I'll need your help this election season. Anytime you hear of a lead for where Ed could be in your area, let me know via call, text or e-mail so we can look into it. Most importantly, I'll need help on the ground in your areas since often times I'll be unable to attend an event myself. Over the next few months, I'll need to reach out to many of you for help in getting someone to film him at events in your area. I've attached a rough guide to tracking on the fly to give you an idea of how it goes.

If we haven't met, please shoot me an e-mail and introduce yourself.

I look forward to speaking with & meeting you all in the future!

Voting Rights Act

Representatives Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) and John Conyers (D-MI) and Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT)introduced legislations to

strengthen the Voting Rights Act of 1965 in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision last June invalidating a critical section of the VRA. The legislation, known as “The Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014,” represents the first attempt by a bipartisan group in Congress to reinstate the vital protections of the VRA that the Supreme Court took away.

Virginia is going to be a big deal on this issue because Rep. Bob Goodlatte (VA-6) is chairman of the powerful House Judiciary Committee.

These laws don't only negatively affect minorities but also students voting on campus, seniors and poorer Americans.

As chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Rep. Goodlatte can prevent this legislation from being enacted. He needs to know that Virginians are demanding this legislation.

Join other young leaders from the state in telling Rep. Goodlatte to support HR 3899 and pass it quickly.
