JENNY SPURLOCK, DIRECTOR
Accomplishments & Highlights
• Class of 2017 accomplishments included: Rails With Trails initiatives, ‘Strength and Courage’ mural, and fundraising for Cookeville Children’s
Museum.
• Launched the class of 2018 in September of
2017 under the Chamber’s leadership.
• This year’s class is the largest LP class since
coming under the Chamber’s umbrella of
programs.
Highlands Health and
Wellness Committee
LINSEY ARFSTEN, CHAIR
Accomplishments & Highlights
• Coordinated another successful Highlands
Fitness Challenge with increased participation in our Highlands’ partner
counties.
• The challenge rules call for physical activity of at least 30 minutes per day,
five days per week. Prizes are awarded throughout the challenge with
awards and recognition given to top performing teams and individuals.
Over 4,500 participants from Jackson, Overton, Putnam and White Counties
have competed in the quest for better health since the challenge began six
years ago.
COMMUNITY APPEARANCE COMMITTEE
JILL HORNER, CHAIR
Accomplishments & Highlights:
• Continued to proactively seek out ways to beautify Cookeville as a committee, especially in the areas of gateway improvements.
• Facilitated discussions concerning advocacy for our community in the area of development, etc.
• Worked to be part of a regional transportation committee in conjunction with city and county leadership.
