I remember being younger and thinking how old and mysterious high school seniors were to me, and I couldn’t wait until I became one myself. Now that I am one though, I realize that seniors are…probably less mature than any other grade level out there, and I’m totally okay with that. Senior year has been a blur for the most part, and I wish it would’ve slowed down because it’s been the best year of school I’ve ever had. This year has probably been the most lax in terms of schoolwork, probably because I’m just used to it by now, and it has been the most enlightening growing experience in my life. This year I’ve really gotten a taste of what real life is going to be like. With busy schedules, college applications, disappointments, and simply not enough time in the day, it has pretty much been trial by fire. Even with all of that though, I wouldn’t trade this year for the world because it’s been great otherwise. This is probably the closest I’ve been to my group of friends in all four years of high school, and that notion is very bittersweet because I know that I may never see some of my friends again. I’ve gained more than friendship this year though; I’ve gained personal awareness. I’ve faced so much adversity this year that now I know the kind of person I am. I know that I can do what it takes to get things done, and I know now that I can propel myself to success. I love all of the friends I’ve made this year, I love the changes that have occurred in myself, I love all of the teachers that have gotten me here, and I love Klein Collins.
