Contraband Interdiction is a never-ceasing fight that correctional staff battle each day , inside and outside the walls of our facilities . Within the Georgia Department of Corrections , staff from the Facilities Division , Special Operations Unit , and Office of Professional Standards work tirelessly to recover and intercept contraband daily . Whether contraband is smuggled in , dropped by drones , or thrown over the fence , our staff are trained to locate and identify contraband .
