Early visualisations of our new Science and Technology Centre featured a rather splendid dinosaur, perhaps inspired by the one that welcomes visitors to the Natural History Museum in London.
When it opened in 2018, the Centre delighted every student except two sixth formers. They remembered the architect’ s imagined dinosaur and mourned its absence in the completed atrium. So much so that they were compelled, before they left, to mastermind a fiendish farewell stunt: the procurement, inflation and surreptitious installation of two blow-up versions.
