Brave or stupid?
When Max Thorpe( OS 2011) rose to the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge( rowing 3000 miles through the roughest seas imaginable) people were forced to wonder. Max himself admits:“ There is a fine line between bravery and stupidity.” But overcoming a total lack of rowing experience, he rediscovered the sporty Sevenoaks schoolboy he had been, chock full of hope, aspiration and resilience.
By crossing the Atlantic in 37 days, 7 hours and 54 minutes, Max and his rowing partner set a new world record.
