THE
39 STEPS
“ Giving all forty-eight cast members their own character, voice and moment on stage was no mean feat, and this masterful production was the highlight of the week.”
John Buchan’ s 1915 novel tells a rattling good tale of murder, flight and a thrilling fight for justice. A story that has been adapted many times for screen and stage.
The original play parodies Buchan’ s book and calls for just four comic actors.
Ours, performed by Lower School students at the Sackville Theatre for three nights only, to rapturous applause, called for a cast of thousands. Well, forty-eight anyway.
