keeping a close ear on any legislative movement as it may relate to the bankruptcy practice. Tara Twomey and Henry Sommer continue to oversee the outstanding advocacy work of NCBRC. NACBA strongly supports NCBRC, and that support has enabled NCBRC to file many key amicus briefs supporting debtors’ rights. In looking forward, 2018 appears to be a year of new opportunities for NACBA. Early indications are that bankruptcy filings are finally leveling off, as opposed to dropping. It is imperative, therefore, that NACBA be positioned to support our membership for the anticipated rise in filings, with the best and most valuable consumer bankruptcy education experience, anywhere. To that end, NACBA’s 26th Annual Convention in Denver is scheduled for April 19-22, 2018. We look forward to reuniting with old friends and experiencing the “hallway magic” that cannot be replicated anywhere else. We’ll also be happy to meet up with new members, as well as those attending the convention for the first time, or perhaps not in a while. Be sure to join us in Denver, as convention co-chairs Jenny Doling and Ed Boltz, along with our Event Director, Rachael Hodgen, have lined up a fantastic event. National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys Winter 2018 NACBA is a dynamic organization. Change is going to occur. I have heard more than one person say “good riddance” to 2017.
