Long time NACBA
member Richard
L Bushman departed this life on the
morning of November 3, 2015.
Richard was a U.S. Navy veteran of
the Vietnam War, enlisting in 1965
and honorably discharged on May
5, 1967. He was a graduate of Penn
State University and Dickinson
School of Law. He started his
career as a Special Inspector for the
United States Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, and Firearms and worked
there for nine years. Richard then
spent thirty-one years as a solo
practitioner, practicing in the areas
of bankruptcy, estates/wills, and
family law.
NACBA pins on all of his suits and
sport jackets. Fittingly, Richard was
buried with a NACBA pin on his
lapel.

Richard was well known for his
wonderful sense of humor and
telling some really bad jokes. The
Episcopal priest delivering his
eulogy started by saying, “Have
you heard the one about the lawyer
… ?” to which the congregation
responded with laughter. He would
have liked that.
