When complete it will house 470 new homes set within one acre of open space . The Proplant Scaffolding package has lasted over 4 years and has included full perimeter façade scaffolds to 8 buildings including 3 high rise blocks , at 19-stories , 24-stories , and 38-stories high .
Due to the architecture of the buildings , the scaffold design team faced the challenging scenario of having to bridge over the top of the low-rise buildings which would then allow the scaffold to be built off these bridging beams right up to the full height required .
Each building had loading bays and hoist gantries built to enable our client to load materials to each floor in order for the building works to take place . A 38-floor hoist gantry was built on the high rise building as part of the first phase .
Due to handover restraints , Proplant designed and built the scaffold in way which would allow the hoist to be lifted down 2 floors at a time with the onsite tower crane to speed up the dismantling process . The scaffold was then dismantled on the floor .
Combi safe protection nets were used and were raised progressively upwards with the build of the scaffold to ensure the highest standards of health and safety . These nets were critical to working safely alongside one of London ’ s busiest railway lines , where accidents are not an option .
