NK CONSTRUCTION - FORMER NURSES HOMES
The transformation of a former Nurses ’ Home on Westmoreland Road , Douglas , is well underway , marking a new chapter for this landmark building .
Originally constructed in 1953 to house nursing staff for Noble ’ s Hospital , the building had been derelict for over a decade . Now , it is being redeveloped into 37 modern apartments and community spaces , with completion expected by early 2025 .
This ambitious project , led by the Manx Development Corporation ( MDC ), represents the firm ’ s inaugural venture since its establishment in 2021 . The MDC , an arm ’ s- length company with the Isle of Man Treasury as its sole shareholder , aims to regenerate key sites and disused buildings across the island .
