BALFOUR BEATTY A904 - WESTFIELD PROJECT

Falkirk Council , in partnership with main contractor Balfour Beatty , has embarked on a transformative redevelopment of the A9 and A904 corridors as part of the Falkirk Gateway project .
The ambitious £ 40 million infrastructure upgrade promises to improve economic growth , improve transport connectivity , and enhance safety for vehicles , pedestrians , and cyclists .
Funded through a combination of £ 14 million from the UK Government and £ 24 million from other public sector sources , the redevelopment aims to improve access to key destinations , including Falkirk Gateway , Falkirk Stadium , the Helix and Kelpies Hub , and Forth Valley College .
The project aligns with a broader £ 54 million regeneration initiative under Falkirk Council ’ s Tax Incremental Finance ( TIF ) programme , which uses revenues generated from commercial developments to fund essential infrastructure work .
The Falkirk Gateway development itself is set to transform 27 acres of land adjacent to the stadium and college into a vibrant mixed-use hub . Plans include 100 new homes , a 120-bedroom hotel , a pub / restaurant , and over 120,000 square feet of commercial space dedicated to retail and leisure facilities and is expected to generate upwards of 400 full- and part-time jobs across the construction , retail , hospitality , and leisure sectors .
