Profile
LUIS FELIPE INFANTE , EXECUTIVE PRODUCER , FAMILIES AT THE CROSSROADS CHILE
Entering the market with a totally new format was just the first of many challenges . We had to translate and adapt more than 100 original scripts to the Latin American reality ; in terms of volume alone , this was a major challenge . Finally , we had to design and organise a mammoth casting session for ‘ ordinary ’ people to fill the almost 650 roles that the series requires . “ Would you like to take part in a new TV series ? But we need you not to have any acting experience please ...”. We never expected a turn-out of more than 2,500 ‘ amateur actors ’. This proved the tremendous interest that the audience had in taking up the challenge . After the success of the recordings , the broadcaster made a risky decision : they scheduled the format in primetime , where it succeeded in increasing the slot share and delivered great numbers in a slot that hadn ’ t delivered good numbers before . After a first run in primetime , the series will be broadcast in its original planned slot , allowing us to truly assess the ratings impact of this fantastic series .
