in memory of our fallen
On May 27, 2013, As a nation, we celebrated the lives of our fallen soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice by giving their lives in the defense of freedom. As we celebrated this Memorial holiday, many thoughts come to mind.
many of us never realize how good we have it until we actually do not have it. i remember living outside of the united states for a time giving missionary service. i cannot begin to describe how my heart ached while i was away from my beloved country, the land of the free and the home of the brave!
i could not wait until the day that my missionary service would be completed so i could come home to my beloved country. two years later my missionary service was completed and i remember the plane landing in colorado. my heart felt whole again.
this memorial day i had the distinct priviledge and honor to stand next to my father, a veteran who served in korea in the early 1990's, and salute our flag while singing the national anthem at our local memorial day parade.
there is no better place to be on this day then where i spent it on may 27, 2013 next to a veteran that i admire with all of my heart! god bless our citizens, god bless our veterans and god bless america!
