The signing of Kuki soon became crucial to our success as Will Grigg was ruled out for 2 months and Kuki impressed when given a chance scoring 4 in his first 3 games. However he proved to not offer much more than goals as when he didn’t score he played shocking these performances allowed highly rated wolves youngster Niall Ennis to get his chance and with our youthful attack we soon pulled away at the top with a long unbeaten run we ended up 9 points clear at the top.Marcus Edwards put in some solid performances as well. Will Griggs return was met with optimism which wasn’t met with performances to match as he failed to find the net with the rest of the season but this disappointment was covered by the 2 young strikers. The annual youth intake was encouraging as 3 5 star potential players came through the pick of them being Martin Barton (more of whom next issue). In the end we won the title with 2 games to spare after a late season mess up (partly down to my emphasis on youth in the late season) went unpunished by the teams around us and I rewarded my players with new contracts and the board returned the favour with a new 2 year contract. In the end I was proud of my first season but I had a long summer ahead of me replacing my loan signings and signing a new keeper after Carl Ikemes deal expired but overall I was looking forwards to the new season and the challenges to come.
Come back next week to see how Wolves did as they returned to the premier.
