What genre do you enjoy writing the most and why? I love horror and suspense. I love to make the reader guess what happens next and let them try to figure out the story. From where do you draw your inspiration? I draw my inspiration from the things around me. People, places and things. Sometimes I dream this stuff and put it down on paper and think 'Hey, I could make a story out of it'. Do you ever base your characters on real people in your life? Does it help your characters come alive? Yes, sometimes I do base my characters on real life. Sometimes I see someone walking down the road and I watch them. I try to figure out a name, then a background and a story. It's mostly towns I base on real life. I use the town of Belmont, Washington in all of my stories and it's sister town Olsa, Washington. They are both small towns based on the small town of Independence, Oregon and Monmouth, Oregon. I also use bits and pieces of the town Pingree, Idaho. Those three towns combines make up my towns of Belmont and Olsa and makes for interesting reading. Which is of your books is your favorite and why? I find myself bouncing back and forth. My favorite book is The Evil Ones. I love the story plot and my character Elisabeth. It was fun making her come alive and jump off the paper at people. She's an interesting soul and has quite a story to tell. .Tell us about your latest book My latest book is called 'Something in the Woods'. It's about two detectives who fall in love and get kicked off the force. They proceed to start their own detective agency. While Johnny is off getting their breakfast in the morning he spots a dead body which unravels a mystery that lies in the woods off the small town of Belmont. It's suspenseful, intriguing and gripping.
