What genre do you enjoy most and why?
My favorite to read is paranormal. But I do love a good erotica or sci fi romance any day. I like
a story that is nothing like my reality. It is my get away and it is not a real get away if it is like
what I deal with on a regular basis. My writing follows the same rules. My White Alpha series
has "normal" characters but always with a paranormal twist of some kind.
From where do you draw your inspiration?
Most is just from my imagination but my reading over the years has made my imagination
sore. From reading all the paranormal books I have, my own characters started telling me
their story and wanting me to write it down. It got to the point I just had to get it down on
paper.
Do you base your characters on real people or invent them completely?
I have and use both. Some are straight from my imagination and others take parts of people I
know and I use those parts to build the characters. Usually when I think of a character I start
with a name. Then build from there. My main characters Sally, Hector, Cathy and Tony are
truly based on no one. They were my original few that wanted their story told. Rick, Dan,
Belinda and maybe a couple other small people are based off real people. In fact Rick and
Dan (bad guys from book 2) were two guys from work. They had been teasing me about my
books and I threatened them by saying I was going to kill them off in one of my books. They
both laughed and got a kick out of it. It became a joke. Did I kill them off.....you will have to
read it to find out.
Which of your books is your favorite?
I like all of my books but there are aspects in them all that I love. Book one how I start, the
connections between the characters. Book 2 the characters develop and learning more about
the world that I am creating. Book 3 is not out yet but I love some of the new characters I
bring in.
Which of your characters is your favorite?
Belinda is someone we learn about in book 3. She is a protective mom who has had a hard road. I can
see a lot I can do with her. Stephaine a bad ass witch who has some pretty kick butt powers. Both are
actually named after real people I work with.
What is the most difficult thing about being an author?
My biggest issue is finding time. I work full time as a Respiratory Therapist (midnights) at a local
hospital. I run a successful blog to help promote authors, a mom and wife, who also want my attention.
I try to write when I can but have fallen behind as of lately. Getting back to it very soon though.
